About

The Chorus & Orchestra of Anna Maria Island – the voice of great music for the community and beyond – is a unique and accomplished Chorus and Orchestra.

Entering its 27th season, the organization has become a cultural mainstay of the Florida Gulf Coast.  Chorus and orchestra members are made up of both volunteer and professional musicians.

This pairing and combination of backgrounds and experience make the organization quite unusual in that choruses and orchestras usually work separately.

The Chorus & Orchestra of Anna Maria Island performs a repertoire chosen from the beloved Classics, Opera and signature American popular music.

Performing concerts from December through March, as well as Symphony on the Sand each November, it attracts audiences from Manatee and Sarasota counties as well as the Suncoast areas of Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area.

This pairing and combination of backgrounds and experience make the organization quite unusual in that choruses and orchestras usually work separately.

Recognized for high quality of performance and the vitality of support from its audiences and press, the organization continues to nurture musical talent among youth. A concerto competition for qualified young music students takes place each January. The winner is offered a substantial monetary prize, publicity, mentoring and a featured performance at an AMICCO concert.

Additionally, the Chorus & Orchestra of Anna Maria Island presents myriad outreach programs for civic, cultural and educational organizations, including public talks at libraries and service clubs.

The organization welcomes new talent: Orchestral and vocal positions are available as well as Board and Committee seats. Interested in learning more? See our list of available positions.
